HGV Truck Solution
A complete vehicle tracking, TruckNav GPS navigation, messaging and job despatch solution designed by TomTom for HGV trucks.
The truck managment system is modular, so you choose only the modules that you need now and additional functionality can be added if required at a later date.
Vehicle Tracking Unit
Hard wired into the vehicle for 24/7 tracking. The tracking unit records the vehicles GPS position every 10-seconds for accurate route and mileage reporting. The unit also has an integrated GPS aerial (so no aerials on roof or windscreen) and a ‘G’ Force sensor to report and alert when the truck is subject to Harsh Braking and Harsh Cornering.
TomTom WEBFLEET
Web based solution accessed via your own office PC providing 24-hour secure access for the monitoring of vehicles. Vehicle details and road names overlaid on high quality photographic mapping, live High Definition traffic information (HD Traffic) on the same mapping screen as your vehicles, concise journey and timesheet reporting, e-mail alert notifications and user administration including geofenced mapped areas for depots and customer sites. Journey replay screen shows 10-second gps multiple vehicle route trails. A suit of printable vehicle and driver activity reports and automatically updated performance comparison graphs are also provided.
HD Traffic
TomTom High Definition Traffic uses a revolutionary new source of traffic information: the traffic flow of up to 16.7 million anonymous mobile phone users on the road. From this anonymous data, TomTom knows exactly where, in which direction and at what speed all these mobile phone users are travelling throughout the road network. This real-time data is combined with additional other existing quality traffic information sources, resulting in the most complete and reliable traffic information available.
HD Traffic is on the same WEBFLEET vehicle tracking screen as your vehicles and the drivers also recieve HD Traffic information and warnings on their TruckNav units.
TruckNav
Each Truck navigates and communicates with the help of its TomTom TruckNav driver GPS navigation and 2-way job dispatch and messaging screen.
RHA tested, the GPS navigation system is designed specifically for HGV vehicles. Routes are calculated taking into account the vehicles size, weight, time of day and HD Traffic information.
The driver is then navigated via the fastest route turn-by-turn straight to the job location. Simple and Quick! You will also know when the driver is due to arrive at the destination as the ETA on the drivers TruckNav unit is also shown on your office PC screen. The TruckNav unit continues to monitor traffic conditions during the journey and will advise if a faster route becomes available.
The TruckNav unit is connected via Bluetooth to the TomTom vehicle tracking unit. This enables you to send messages and job orders/instructions, even GPS delivery coordinates, between the your office PC and the driver via the TomTom WEBFLEET system.
The driver benefits from Text-To-Speech for messages, speed camera warnings and real time High Definition traffic information that also diverts the driver around traffic congestion. The unit also has a hands free function for mobile phones and can be connected to a PC for map and speed camera updates.
Realtime Digital Tachograph Information
Who is driving the truck? How much time did the driver spend on driving and breaks today? Which driver has enough time left to do the next job? Which stages has the driver already completed?
All this information is recorded on the digital tachograph, but now TomTom helps heavy goods vehicle fleet operators to see this information displayed live on their office PC via WEBFLEET vehicle tracking and reporting screen.
Eco-PLUS Information
The small Eco-PLUS unit into vehicles OBD-11/EOBD diagnostic connection to provide real time and historical MPG fuel usage information along with engine rpm, gear selection and idle time/wasted fuel, to your office via WEBFLEET.
The driver also benefits from Active Driver Feedback – information displayed on the TruckNav unit screen includes Harsh Braking/Steering warnings, actual vehicle mpg, journey average fuel usage and wasted fuel warnings
